Everyone knows the Apple Festival is a fun community event, but did you know when you purchase popcorn and apple cider from the old-fashioned Apple Cider Wagon located in the Funland area you are helping others?
Throughout the Apple Festival, the Apple Cider Wagon is hosted by different organizations from Jackson County. These host groups then receive the profits from the cider and popcorn sales.
This year’s hosts include a variety of groups such as the Jackson County Extension Happy Homemakers, the Somerset Clovers 4-H Club, the Murphysboro Red Devil Football Team, Jackson-Union County Habitat for Humanity and S.T.A.R.T.
So, do yourself and our community a favor! Stop by the Apple Cider Wagon, say hello to our volunteer hosts, and help them help others by enjoying some hot popcorn and cold apple cider!
